The One Where I Try To Escape Lebanon

I haven't ditched Love Film. There's just been a slew of titles for Mrs T. Plus Invictus, which I sent back, with out even watching. Finally one for me. Lebanon.

As if I hadn't had my fair share of gruelling sub titled films, lately...

I'd wanted to see Lebanon for ages.

I think it had a couple of 5* reviews in Empire/Total Film - or certainly very good ones.

Trouble is, I knew instantly, I'd want to try and forget it as soon as possible...

The One With LoveFilm On The PS3

So I got an email from Love Film.

It was available on the PS3, and I had forgotten it was even happening.

So I downloaded it.

Signed in.

Then reaped the benefits of being an unlimited customer and being able to watch some for free.

The Perfect Storm! I haven't seen that for years.

...

Loads up.

Starts.

Standard def.

Can't pause.

But other than that... how cool?

This has serious potential.

The States has had this for years - but as far as free apps go. SOLD.

The One Where WS2 Is Guilty, But Valhalla Rising Is The Real Criminal!

My God. Where to start?

JMcG and I did rival posts on Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. A lot of people read those, and yet didn't vote.

I'd normally go off on a foul mouthed tirade about that, except Valhalla Rising, which I had wanted to see for an age, is actually terrible.

Like so disappointingly bad, I feel that it's put Wall Street 2 in perspective.

This is not me apologising, JMcG.

The One Where Love Film Drops The Ball

I HEART LOVE FILM

Away Days, Love Film? Really?

It's bottom on my list of 20 odd movies, FFS!

So... was it the disaster I was expecting...?

The One Where Fantastic Mr Fox Blows Me Away

I HEART LOVE FILM

OK.

We need a happier day on the Blog today, after a Killer Inside Me/Teeth double bill on Thursday.

Oh, and after making my Dad nascious with the 30 second clip from Machete.

So... is Fantastic Mr Fox the film to bring a smile to all our lil faces...?

The One Where I'm Uncomfortably Numb From Killer Inside Me

I HEART LOVE FILM

I've wanted to see The Killer Inside Of Me since Total Film and Empire said it was the most controversial film of the year.

The One Where I Love Staring At Goats (Trying To Kill Them)

"What is it?" "The dark side"

What a quirky little film.

I'm a firm believer that the less you know about a film, the better.

Here though, you'd really need to know at least a little bit. It won't be me that tells you, though. It's the Jedi code...

The One Where I Finally Catch Centurion

I HEART LOVE FILM

I heart Neil Marshall. But is love enough?

The One Where I Don't Get A Global Phenomenon

I HEART LOVE FILM

I'll be honest. I didn't think this would be my sort of thing.

I love a foreign film, don't get me wrong - Let The Right One In and Red Cliff were "event movies" for me. I rush out to see that sort of thing.

Battle Royale, Ichi The Killer, Rec, I love it.

But this? This didn't appear to have any samurai swords, or explosive collars.

So... what did I think?

The One Where There You Offend Millions (Unintentially?)

I HEART LOVE FILM

"Everything is everything, but you're missing..."

If you've not seen Remember Me, or somehow avoided the mass controversy, and walk outs it caused this year... I'd probably avoid this review. If you never intend to see it, or are intrigued as to how a "Rom Com", that's not a frat pack comedy about "special hair gel", read on... If you do want to see it, Love Film it, then DM me.

The One Where I Don't *Get* Football Violence

I HEART LOVE FILM

So. The Firm.

I'm not going to lie and say I have fond memories of the original. I saw it last year, and thought it had aged.  This, another remake, is passable. It's the sort of film I would have picked up half price on Blu Ray - so, it's more proof that Love Film is good value for me.

The One Where I Review Lovely Bones... And Pine Over Ryan Gosling

For the second time running, Mrs Ts Love Film was right up my street. Guess who manages the lists...?

The One Where It's My First Birthday

I HEART LOVE FILM

Especially after they gave me a rental for my one year anniversary today!

But what did I get this week...? Here's a clue...

The One Where I Liked Mrs Ts Love Film More Than She Did

"This Is Why Superman Works Alone"

I HEART LOVE FILM

I bet I've vouched for George Clooney longer than you have. From Dusk Til Dawn was my first 18 at the cinema. I thought he was a great call for Batman. Solaris is one of the most underrated films of the last ten years. So this, (^), this I'd been looking forward too, for a while. And...

The One Where I Wonder If A Prophet Is All That

I HEART LOVE FILM

I love Gangster films. Love them. The British ones that got churned out in the 90's tested my patience, but... the under belly of crime. Life on the streets? Gun running. Love it.

A Prophet was delivered to me, on the promise of being one of the best gangster films ever. EVER. That's a big word.

"...It's The Ginger One"

The One Where You Can't Bottle Lightning (Twice)

I HEART LOVE FILM

I do still love Love Film.... I just find it a bit frustrating. I have ten odd films on my list, state what is my next three most wanted, and they send me my fourth.

Their pricing policy is genius, too. We get four a month, and it's... just... not... enough.

I'll keep it going though. It's cost me money, but saved me loads. I would have picked 44 Inch Chest on a pre-owned before. And, despite some fine acting, I would have regretted it.

"Do You Know What I Did, To Get Back To You?"

The One Where His And Her Movies Became His And His Movies

I HEART LOVE FILM

Armored

Spelt wrong. Not a good start. Anyway...

"Children Don't Grow Up, Bodies Get Bigger, Hearts Get Torn Up"

The One Where Puppets Made Me Cry

I HEART LOVE FILM

God, it's been a while since one of these. Granted that was my fault with the whole The Box debacle.

I've also had a *great* idea... Cult Classics! I write about movies no one ever saw. You know, like The Road...

I think I'll call it, "Flicks I Love, That No One Saw, And May Never See... Ever". Catchy, yes?

"I Got Soul, But I'm Not A Soldier"

The One Where I Cock Up My Love Film List

I HEART LOVE FILM

Jesus. I am such a rookie. During a chill out day, I bought The Box, whilst in London. Well don't write about that here, AT - I hear you shout. That should be filed under Blu Ray, AT - shouts another. Why did you buy that piece of crap, AT? - asks someone else.

"Find Comfort In Pain, Like Dorian Gray... I Heard What They Say, But I'm Not Here For Trouble"

The One Where I Hate Love Film

I HEART LOVE FILM

Well, actually I don't... Regular readers will know in this column I review my Love Film list, as they come. I was doing quite well. That was until the dubious double bill of Dorian Gray, from Mrs T's list... and Saw VI...
